I’m not sure anyone will read this, since I’d previously all but retired this Xanga, but I have the Olympics on my mind lately (thank you NBC, for worsening my insomnia!), and in honor of the historic feat that Michael Phelps accomplished last week with his 8th gold medal in Beijing, I wanted to post this hilarious chat I had with a super-funny friend of mine about a subject of hot debate-- you guessed it, his looks. Ha!

I guess this means I’m re-opening salailama for business! What? I’m a woman, I can be flippy floppy if I want! What is that awful Bobbie Brown song that Britney covered? It’s my prerogative? (Ooh, terrible reference.) I won’t revisit why I had decided to stop blogging on this Xanga, but I’ll just briefly say that I've always enjoyed blogs as long as they aren’t too personal, and I kind of I miss typing up random crap and broadcasting it to cyberspace.

Anyway, I digress. Fasten your seat belts, cybermonkeys, Olympics-related random crap to follow. Oh, and stop here if you're easily offended by slightly objectifying, yet completely harmless and tongue in cheek discussions about celebrities!

Friend: we were remarking on how hot michael phelps is,

when he's in the water,

with a swim cap and coated with sexy chlorinated water

but when he gets out and starts talking,

it's like 'put that back'

me: he has too many teeth or something

Friend: 'that's not what we came here to see'

hahahaha

me: and his head shape troubles me

Friend: nose is really big?

me: i don't think that's it

it's really the mouthful of teeth

and the head shape sans swimcap

Friend: sigh, what a shame

me: it's weird-- i saw some pics of him as a little kid and he looked like he would turn out normal

and his sisters are pretty

i kept waiting for him to grow out of his awkward stage, but alas, he's 23 now

i think that ship has sailed

Friend: you KEPT waiting?

me: hahah-- from the last olympics

Friend: ahem?

me: hhhaa, he's my tv boyfriend of the moment

Friend: yeah...on your walls, on the creepy posters that you have up?

me: like 4 years ago at a rest stop on I-95

if i got posters, i might have to find one where he has his swim cap and goggles on

i can't remember for sure

but i SWEAR i saw him at the rest stop, and was thisclose to asking but chickened out cuz i wasn't sure

then i later found out that he's FROM baltimore

and realized it must've been him
